What Is Nalusuan Island?
Nalusuan Island is a Marine Sanctuary located between Cebu and Bohol Island. Less than 1 hour ride by pump boat from Mactan Island
The island is actually a large reef, home to 100’s of different fish species,
On one side of the island the water is deep and on the other the water is really shallow you can walk 150 meters with the water no deeper than a few feet
Nalusuan is part of the Olango Group of Islands, once you have visited i’m sure you will want to return again and again

The welcome sign that’s on the pier, here you can buy fish food from one of the sellers and swim in the deep water, feed the fish. Don’t worry about not seeing any fish, once you have food in your hand there will be 100’s of fish eating the food out of your hand

Things To Do
There are plenty of things to do on the island during the day, here are just a few of the activities
- Rent a jetski – 3500 php
- Hire a kayak – 500 php
- Scuba diving – can be arranged at the diving shop on the island from 1500 php
- Banana boat ride – 4500 php
- And of course snorkeling – if you don’t have your own gear you can hire it from 300 php
Where To Stay On Nalusuan Island
There is only 1 option on staying at Nalusuan, the island is very small and only 14 rooms available at any time to stay in
With amazing views of the sea, these rooms are very unique to Cebu, staying on a small island with very few other people around,
Staying here is not only a great break away from Cebu, a retreat and if your a star gazer like me, your in for a treat because your very far from city lights
The rooms on the island are actually cottages, there are only 14 of these as the island is very small, each cottage overlooks the sea
A perfect place to go if your looking for somewhere very peaceful, with amazing snorkeling around the reef

Getting To Nalusuan Island
As you can see from the map, Nalusuan is not far from Mactan Island, it’s easy to get to once you arrive in Cebu
The resort will arrange a round trip boat transfer from Mactan island to Nalusuan for 2500 php
After you book your room, it’s best to contact the resort either by phone or email to arrange the boat transfer
If your coming straight from the airport or anywhere else in Cebu, you will need to get to the pier to meet your pump boat
- Does the island have a restaurant for guests?
There is a restaurant on the island, it’s only small and the food is limited but good enough for breakfast, lunch and evening meal, the prices are not too expensive though.
For snacks and soda drinks, i would suggest bringing your own
- Is there electricity on the island?
Yes, there is electricity on the island, but as it is not connected to the mainland, they use generators, the electric is cut off to the rooms during the day between 8am and 6pm
- Is there WIFI on the island?
Yes, there is wifi around the bar area but not in the rooms, don’t forget your very far away from the mainland so don’t expect a great signal though
- Can i take a day tour to the island?
There are tours available, you can do an island hopping tour of 3 islands where you can snorkel and Nalusuan is part of the tour, usually during the tour, the bbq lunch is served while your here
- Can you scuba dive there?
You can scuba dive here, there is a scuba shop on the island where you can rent out equipment
- Is there an ATM on the island?
No, there is not an ATM on the island, they can’t take credit cards either at the restaurant either, so remember to bring enough cash for your visit here

Nalusuan Island is part of the Olango Group Of Islands, so don’t forget to consider to visit the main Island Of Olango too, where there is the bird sanctuary and several beach resorts
